Meet Jeremy

Music is more than sound — it's connection.

Jeremy Reta Jackson picked up the saxophone at five years old and never put it down. Trained in jazz and blues at Humboldt State, he now plays from San Diego to Los Angeles — weddings, festivals, and private events across Southern California.

He's not on stage or next to the DJ. He's in the mix — wireless mic, in-ears, working the dance floor like it's a club night with live horns.

Word on the dance floor

They came for the wedding.
They left talking about the sax.

So Cal Sax — Jeremy Reta Jackson playing live saxophone for an excited wedding crowd in Southern California
Jeremy was absolutely incredible at our wedding. People still talk about how much energy our dance floor had, and how they have never been to a wedding with that much dance floor energy. I would absolutely recommend Jeremy to all of my friends. He is an absolute blast!

Wedding client

I've been a wedding DJ for the past 20 years and I've never worked with a hybrid performer that can do what Jeremy does. It's a completely different performance than any other hybrid musician I've worked with. He gets people so pumped, which in turn helps me as the DJ. It's why I only recommend Jeremy and So Cal Sax to my clients.

Wedding DJ, 20 years

Wow! I absolutely loved having Jeremy perform for our wedding. We had never seen a hybrid performance before, and it absolutely blew our minds. Our guests still talk about how fun our wedding was!

How it works

A hybrid set, your way.

01

Open dancing

The main event. Live sax layered over house, hip-hop, and current hits — with me in the crowd on a wireless mic, not behind a stand.

02

Cocktail hour

A solo, laid-back set while guests arrive and mingle. Smooth, modern, never cheesy.

03

Dinner set

Warm, ambient, conversation-friendly. Keeps the room feeling alive without shouting over plates.

Frequently asked

Good questions.

Do you only play jazz?

No — traditional jazz standards are the exception, not the rule. Most of my sets are live sax layered over modern DJ music: house, hip-hop, Afro-house, deep cuts, current hits. That's what actually fills dance floors.

Do you bring your own DJ?

Either way works. I collaborate with your DJ in advance to lock the vibe, or I can recommend or bring someone I work with frequently.

Can we request specific songs?

Yes. I'll ask for must-plays, do-not-plays, and anything meaningful to you in advance, then use discretion in the moment to keep the energy where you want it.

What's the setup like?

Wireless mic on the sax, in-ear monitors, and a tight line-check with the DJ. I don't need a stage — I prefer to be in the mix, working the floor with your guests.

Do you travel?

Based in Southern California — San Diego, Orange County, LA, and out as far as Palm Springs or Santa Barbara are all standard. Available worldwide with travel built in.
