Live Sax. Real DJ. One Memorable Night.
I specialize in hybrid performances — saxophone played over a real DJ set, not pre-recorded backing tracks. The result is a live, interactive show that keeps your dance floor packed from the first song to the last.
Sax + DJ — Open Dancing
The main event. Live sax over house, hip-hop, and current hits, with me in the crowd on a wireless mic — not tucked behind a stand. I bring in-ear monitors and work with your DJ (or one I trust, like DJ Matt Phipps) to build the kind of set your guests will talk about for months.
Cocktail Hour
A solo, laid-back set while guests arrive and mingle. Smooth, modern, conversation-friendly — and a million miles from the elevator-jazz cliché.
Dinner Set
Warm, ambient playing that keeps the room feeling alive without shouting over plates. Pairs perfectly with a hybrid open-dancing set later in the night.
Frequently asked
Good questions.
Do you only play jazz?
No — traditional jazz standards are the exception, not the rule. Most of my sets are live sax layered over modern DJ music: house, hip-hop, Afro-house, deep cuts, current hits. That's what actually fills dance floors.
Do you bring your own DJ?
Either way works. I collaborate with your DJ in advance to lock the vibe, or I can recommend or bring someone I work with frequently.
Can we request specific songs?
Yes. I'll ask for must-plays, do-not-plays, and anything meaningful to you in advance, then use discretion in the moment to keep the energy where you want it.
What's the setup like?
Wireless mic on the sax, in-ear monitors, and a tight line-check with the DJ. I don't need a stage — I prefer to be in the mix, working the floor with your guests.
Do you travel?
Based in Southern California — San Diego, Orange County, LA, and out as far as Palm Springs or Santa Barbara are all standard. Available worldwide with travel built in.
